Scamper
"You use the tool by asking questions about existing products, using each of the seven prompts above. These questions help you come up with creative ideas for developing new products, and for improving current ones." Examples I chose: iMac - A computer that has had elements removed combined in comparison to a traditional computer Tefal Toast 'n' Bean - One of my favourite kitchen gadgets, combining a toaster and a bean/egg cooker to save time, yum.
User Centered Design
"User-centered design (UCD) is a process (not restricted to interfaces or technologies) in which the needs, wants, and limitations of end users of a product, service or process are given extensive attention at each stage of the design process." Examples: Mobile phone Apps, Nest Thermostat. Impact After looking at all four today, this helped me confirm the use of these two processes for my project. Having looked at Ethnography and Creative Design as the other options, they were helpful to analyse however I feel like Scamper and User Centered Design are the better choices for my project. Looking at all the methodology today, it has impacted my project by helping me choose the two I definitely want to use. I already use elements from both of these processes when I work anyway so I feel like they're the right two to go forward with.
